Ganesh Bhagwandeen
Ganesh was born and raised in Middletown and graduated from Middletown High School. He then left and served in the United States Marine Corps for 4.5 years on active duty, which instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, leadership, and community service. After his military service, he joined the Town of Wallkill Police Department, where he has been for 5 years. Throughout his career as a police officer, he has been involved in numerous community initiatives, such as "Cookies with Cops," "Donuts with Cops," "Shop with a Cop," "Trunk or Treat," holiday parades, and more. He has also served as a School Resource Officer (SRO) within the local schools, building strong, positive relationships with students. He is currently the Vice President of the Wallkill Police Benevolent Association (PBA).
Additionally, each summer he participates in the Junior Police Academy, where he teaches children about EMS, CPR, leadership, physical fitness, and the importance of community policing. He also engages with youth through the Youth Coalition, assisting with the organization of events such as the annual "Cops vs. Kids" baseball game, as well as attending educational field trips to the Liberty Science Center and Renegades games.
Given his diverse background in community service and youth engagement, he is eager to bring his experience, enthusiasm, and dedication to the Town of Wallkill Boys and Girls Club. He looks forward to the opportunity to contribute to the positive impact of this important organization.
